"Together, we are pursuing the ambitious goal of increasing the penetration rate of laser vision correction from 5% to over 50%. We are convinced that only excellent results for patients will bring us closer to this goal together with our users." With this ambition, SCHWIND CEO Domenic von Planta opened the 20th International SCHWIND User Meeting from January 25th to 28th in Dubai. With more than 320 participants from 60 countries, this event brought together the global SCHWIND user community - three eventful days of knowledge transfer, networking and exchange on the latest medical findings and best practices.
During the scientific presentations, participants learned more about the core of our innovation and discussed details with numerous experts in refractive surgery. The lively discussions and interactive sessions continued beyond the conference program.
One of the main focuses was on our femtosecond laser SCHWIND ATOS. Several renowned SCHWIND users from around the world shared their experiences and insights firsthand, with particular attention given to the excellent clinical results for SmartSight treatments, sparking amazement and discussion. The presentations were supported by comprehensive studies and live demonstrations.
Presenting the latest diagnostic devices and customized treatment options, the interactive sessions focused on the individual treatment of regular, irregular and problematic corneas.
In the session on "CustomEyes" treatments, the SCHWIND AMARIS took center stage, demonstrating its versatility in corneal and ocular wavefront treatment. The PresbyMAX sessions also impressed participants with approaches to treating presbyopic patients and highlighting customized solutions for the vision of each individual.
Domenic von Planta concludes: "The high quality of the presentations, the exciting discussions, and the overwhelmingly positive feedback create an ideal platform for shaping the future of vision correction. Our User Meeting is a unique event for surgeons to network and exchange best practices. Judging by the energy, enthusiasm, and overwhelming feedback, I believe we have taken a step towards our ambitious goal of achieving over 50% penetration rate of laser eye correction."
