TREATMENT TOOLS
Comprehensive planning for individual refractive laser correction
The intelligent SCHWIND CAM module ORK-CAM is the ideal planning tool for successful excimer laser refractive vision treatment.
It can be used with AMARIS lasers for all common ablation techniques – LASIK, FemtoLASIK, LASEK, PRK, and the touch-free TransPRK or SmartSurfACE.
This is the first choice for patients whose vision is not compromised by higher order aberrations. Only spherical and/or cylindrical refraction values are corrected. The patient retains his or her accustomed vision perception.
This type of treatment is for patients with higher-order aberrations. Customised treatments use corneal or ocular wavefront data from the high-resolution SCHWIND diagnostic systems to reduce higher-order aberrations and improve vision perception.
Benefits at a glance
Highly precise planning of all refractive treatments from LASIK to SmartSurfACE
Aberration-free treatments – the perfect ablation profiles for patients with good vision (with glasses or contacts)
Customised treatments – the perfect ablation profiles for patients with higher-order aberrations and reduced vision
In both treatment strategies, the doctor can enter an offset for sphere and cylinder centering. In the symmetric strategy, the treatment zone is centred on the visual axis or corneal vertex. With the asymmetrical strategy, the treatment zone is concentric to the pupil. This eliminates the need to enlarge the optical zone, thus saving tissue.
In all treatments, ORK-CAM calculates the ideal size of the transition zone based on the refraction, the treatment method, and the optical zone. This speeds up planning and helps achieve stable outcomes.
ORK-CAM defines the ablation per pulse depending on the treatment method and tissue characteristics. Individual nomograms are not necessary. This makes both planning and treatment easier.
In customised treatments, the ablation volume and depth can be minimised by removing higher-order aberrations. This results in less tissue ablation, shorter ablation duration and higher patient safety.
