After months of careful preparation, we concluded our presence at ESCRS 2024 in Barcelona with an unforgettable and impactful show.
On the very first congress day, the demand for wet lab sessions already exceeded the available slots. The interest from refractive surgeons eager to personally perform the SmartSight procedure - the advanced KLEx procedure with the SCHWIND ATOS femtosecond laser - was immense. We tried our best to provide as many participants as possible with hands-on insights into this groundbreaking technology. Meanwhile, our booth sessions ran full house every day, with attendees engaging in in-depth technical discussions with our expert speakers after each session.
The highlight of ESCRS 2024 was undoubtedly the fascinating launch ceremony for our three technological innovations, where SCHWIND once again set new standards in refractive surgery. SCHWIND users and many other interested visitors were eagerly awaiting the presentation of the new, revolutionary technologies from SCHWIND.
SCHWIND Foresight®, a pioneering simulation software that can visualise the refractive treatment effects on the cornea for each patient’s eye individually before the treatment, attracted special attention, as no other manufacturer currently offers such an innovative tool for treatment planning.
The new ATOS feature CenTrax® sets the SCHWIND ATOS® femtosecond laser further apart from its competitors by enhancing its already exceptional precision, prioritizing precision over speed. The fully automated cyclotorsion compensation, combined with the active compensation of any residual errors after docking, sets new benchmarks in the femtosecond laser segment.
Last but not least, CustomEyes® expands the possibilities for personalized, customized vision correction with patient-specific, a total corneal wavefront guided treatment option, which can only be performed with SCHWIND AMARIS excimer lasers. This innovation broadens the treatment options for SCHWIND users and enables even more precise and individualized surgical outcomes.
